Family Fonds and Histories
The Archives maintains individual and family papers, including diaries, letters, scrapbooks, photographs, and printed material.
The Archives houses some records of the Mission School District No. 75 including class photographs, school newsletters, a World War II Memorial Album for Mission Senior High Alumni, school annuals, and an index to school registers maintained by the School District. Through the School Archives Program
, the Archives also maintains records from Mission public and private schools.
The Archives has some municipal records including Voter's Lists, Land Registry Office Title Transfer Books, Assessment and Collector's Rolls, maps and plans.
The Archives photographic holdings exceed 100,000 images, dating from the late 1880s to the present. Of note is the Fraser Valley Record and Mission City Record newspaper fonds, which provides the most comprehensive record of the community for the years 1946-1998.
The Archives has the Mission City News (1893) and the Fraser Valley Record (1908-present) renamed the Mission City Record in 1996. The latter is maintained in both its original form and on microfilm for 1908-1979. A name index exists for births, marriages and deaths for the following decades: 1908-1919, 1920-1929, and 1930-1939. The Archives has some subject indexing completed for the newspaper.
